We wanted to give you an update on all that has been going on in our family over the last several months. Where to begin...
Josh is doing amazingly well. We continue to be amazed at how God has blessed him and us with his rapid progress. He is quite the smart boy, learning new words and new skills everyday. He is walking, although we would not say that is his primary means of moving around yet - but that is coming any day now. Some of his favorite things are: playing chase with Mommy - he speed crawls away from you until he reaches something to pull up on, then he giggles and waits for you to get him, Daddy arriving home after being gone all day - Josh immediately stops what he is doing and heads for the door when he hears Daddy open it, bubbles, drinking from Daddy's coffee cup, spinach - yep, you read that right, spinach, cuddling up in a blanket, his green monkey, being outside, sandboxes, balls, and the list could go on.
He is doing well growth-wise, at his last appointment he as in the 45th percentile for both height and weight on an unadjusted growth chart. (He was in the 98th percentile on the adjusted chart.) His last hearing test showed that his hearing is still perfect. He has about 15 words that we can clearly understand and has a few more that mean something to him. His latest words are baby, ball and light. Josh loves to be read to and will bring books to Mommy or Daddy and then squeal when we start to read them.
Josh has been struggling a bit with illnesses as winter turns to summer here. He had a nasty bought with bronchitis about a month ago. He was on home nebulizers and antibiotics for a little over a week. He is dealing with a cold now, which he seems to be recovering from quickly. He finished up his RSV prevention shots and we are told that we don't have to do those next year.
We all had a blast at our church's Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. Josh did quite well, even though it took some coaching from Daddy for him to figure out what he was doing. He did much better the following day when we had Easter dinner and egg hunt at our friends Dawn and Berry's house. Josh also got his second Easter basket and Easter outfit this year from Grammie - he had a good time trying to carry everything he got around with him.
During our time away from the blog, Daddy traveled to and from Orlando for 4 weeks, coming home on weekends. None of us were particularly happy with this arrangement, but Josh especially missed his Daddy. One the last week, our friend Kristi gave us passes or SeaWorld and we had an amazing time! Josh loved seeing and touching the animals and even sat on the edge of his seat through the dolphin show (check out the pictures below).
We also enjoyed a visit with Mimi and Popi, who were up from Guatemala. We spent time strawberry picking (sorry, no pics) and feeding horses at the retired horse farm in Alachua. Josh enjoyed getting to spend time with his Mimi and Popi.
