The only other new event today was that Josh get his RSV vaccine. RSV is a virus that is very mild in adults, but can be very dangerous for babies, as it causes a lot of mucus buildup, which can cause respiratory distress. Josh also recieved his last dose of antibiotics this morning!
Josh also took his first bath in almost two weeks. The bath seemed to go ok, and Josh screamed throughout it, but then he got cold afterwards, which concerns Mommy and Daddy very much, because we do not want this to set Josh back. He seems to just be a little sensitive, as a preemie may be, and so we will have to be very careful to keep him warm around and after bath time, and not go immediately into a feed after without warming him up really well. He was able to warm up pretty quickly, needing the heat lamp for only an hour to get his temperature back up.
Prayer Requests:
- Josh's issues around his bath time do not set him back and cause him to stay in the NICU longer than is necessary
- Josh stay warm and healthy
- Josh continue to eat well and have fewer (or no) bradys during and around feedings
- Mommy and Daddy get rest as they are both very tired
- Josh is over 5 pounds! He is 5 pounds 2 ounces
- Josh is eating well
- Josh is done with his antibiotics and got his IV out
(Josh voicing his displeasure at not being fed yet)
(Josh's cute foxy feet)
(A very squirmy baby during bath time)
(Josh getting his hair washed, and trying to squirm out of his Daddy's hands)
